“All things are possible with God.” That is our hope and our dream in regards to adopting our child…..
Hi! First we want to thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. We know this must be a very hard step for you, but I hope after you read this, you will feel more comfortable and hopeful and your worry will be lessened knowing your child will be the center of our world.
My name is Julie Crawford, and my wonderful husband is Kenny Crawford… I would like to start our story by sharing a story with you that happened before Kenny and I met. About 5 years ago I was in a hospice room saying goodbye to my dad who had hours to live..his cancer had finally taken him. As I came into the room the hospice nurse said that he was brain dead, but if she were me she would continue talking to him and comforting him till he was gone. I did. I remember at one point leaning over and whispering in his right ear, “Dad we will be with you till you are ready to be with God, and when you are in Heaven, please ask God to send me someone like you.” 6 months later I met Kenny.
A Little Bit About Us: Kenny and I met in Atlanta on January 7, 2015. He lived in a loft in a cool part of Atlanta called Little 5 Points, I had just bought a house in a little neighborhood inside the city. We both knew within 2 months that we were in love and on April 16, 2016 we were married.
Kenny’s Personality (written by Julie):
Kenny above all things is a gentleman. He is liked by everyone, probably because he focuses on others and not himself. Kenny is kind, generous, FUNNY, smart and very successful in his work. He is athletic and creative (a rare combination). He is a wonderful friend, brother, son, co-worker, uncle, neighbor, son-in-law and husband.
Julie’s Personality (written by Kenny):
Julie is a wonderful wife, aunt, friend, and special daughter and sister. She is a unique soul who is driven by a loving and compassionate heart. She has many great qualities including her intelligence, strength, and high quality of character, She is constantly looking for ways to grow both spiritually and emotionally. Julie is a role model for all of those in her life.
What We Love to Do: We love being outside, whether it is at our pool, at the beach, on our bikes or taking a walk. We love music and we love movies. We have music of all genres playing in our house most of the time. We love playing games! We play cards and board games and also outdoor games like corn hole and pickleball. We love serving the people in our community especially kids that have special needs. Kenny couches soccer for the local Special Olympics here in Pensacola. In the past I have been involved in teaching and tutoring kids with special needs. We can’t wait to introduce a child to all of these things and discover what things they love to do!
Traveling: We have traveled to many neat places over the 4 years we have been together including Italy, Portugal, Playa Del Carmen, many Caribbean Islands, and all over the United States. We will continue to travel once we become parents, but this time with a child, what an adventure and great learning experience it will be for our child.
Our Experiences with Children: We have 13 nieces and nephews that we love to be with to play games with, go to movies, and just talk. Like I mentioned before, Kenny couches soccer for the local Special Olympics team. Almost all of our friends have young kids and we live in a very diverse neighborhood where kids of different race, age and backgrounds all play together. We also live right across the street from the neighborhood park, so I think our child will love that! Even when they get older they play movies in the park, which is fun, no matter what your age! We have a pool so we will often have our friends bring their kids over to swim.
Day to Day Life: Kenny and I both work full time. He works from home 90% of the time and I have a flexible job where I create my daily schedule. We feel like this will be very good for a child. One of us will almost always be home. We plan to have a nanny (depending on the child’s age) as well. Our house is kept clean and tidy and I am pretty structured when it comes to time and daily routines. Kenny for the most part takes care of our yard and any maintenance on the inside of the house and I take care of the aesthetics of the house through decorating, renovation, and design.
Our “Other Kids”: We have 2 dogs. One is Maggie, a dachshund mix and the other is Ruby, a black lab. They are 13 and 15 respectively, they are both rescues, and they are both the loves of our lives. If we had a nickel for every time someone says “In my next life I want to come back as one of your dogs.” We would be rich! We are extremely diligent in caring for our dogs health and wellbeing. Ruby gets laser therapy each week for her ailing hips, she has been a patient at Tuff University Nutrition Program and is on a personalized nutritional plan. Maggie has the best wardrobe in town, and both dogs get tons of attention and play time from us.
Why Adoption: We both feel like we have so much love to give to a child. We have both had wonderful role models in our own parents who provided us with an environment to grow and flourish into who we are today. We would love to give a child the same opportunity.
Our Promise to Our Child: We will love you unconditionally and accept you for exactly who you are. You will be surrounded by both of our families who are excited and supportive of our decision to become your parents and your decision to let us have that great honor. You will always be well cared for when it comes to all things but especially your health, wellbeing and educational needs. We have been praying for you for a long time and hope to bring you home soon.
