I am pregnant and considering adoption in Florida. My unplanned pregnancy journey left me no choice but to think about giving my baby up for adoption. As a college-going student, I can’t raise my child alone and complete my studies. So, I want to start the adoption process as soon as my child takes birth.
Florida Adoptions is ready to help you. We are a hands-on practice in Pensacola, FL, helping birth mothers make the best decisions for their families. Finding forever homes for children is the most important thing, and we know how to place your children in kind and loving families.
Adoption Process in Florida: How Does it Work?
- First, talk to us and understand how the adoption process works. Do the preliminary paperwork.
- Once you finish the final paperwork, we will start the adoption process.
- The next step is to choose the right adoptive family for your baby. Three types of adoptions are available- open, closed, or semi-open. Your counselor can help you choose the best plan.
- Talk to the adoptive family members before finalizing them. As a mother, you should have peace of mind about the future family members of your baby.
- After finalizing the adoptive parents, you can focus on creating a hospital plan. In this way, you can take charge of the placement.
- According to the hospital plan, you can hold your baby and spend time with them before signing the final documents.
- After you give birth to your baby, you need to wait for 48 hours or after you are discharged to sign your consent to the adoption.
- This consent refers to the paperwork you will sign to terminate your parental rights.
- Get regular updates on your child and how they are doing in the new house with the new family through videos, pictures, and emails based on your adoption plan.
