Finding Adoptive Families in Florida: What You Need To Know

Are you pregnant and looking for adoptive families in Florida? If so, you’ve come to the right place. The Law Offices of Berkowitz & White have helped hundreds of women find adoptive families in Florida. We would be happy to guide you through the entire adoption process, and find a safe and loving home for your child.

Five Things To Know About Finding Adoptive Families in Florida

The Choice is 100% Yours To Make.

The Law Offices of Berkowitz & White will never pressure you to choose adoption in Florida. Similarly, we’ll never force you to choose a specific adoptive family. We truly understand the gravity of this decision and know that only you can make the best decision for your baby.

We Are Here To Help.

Our adoption law firm will help you find the perfect adoptive family for your baby. This process starts with understanding your preferences for the adoptive family. This may include the type of adoption (open, semi-open, closed) or amount of financial assistance you require. It could also include sexuality, religion, or even race. Once you finalize those choices, we’ll compile a list of waiting families that match your preferences. After that, we’ll provide you with their adoption profiles and let you sort through your options.

Our Adoptive Families Are All Home-Study Approved for Private Adoption.

As required by law, we may only place a child with adoptive parents that are home-study approved in Florida.  In addition to this, they have all undergone an extensive screening process. This includes a criminal background check and central abuse registry check. Given this, you can rest assured that any of the families we present to you are kind, loving people.

Birth Mother Support is Available To You.

Florida law allows adoptive families to assist the expectant mother during her pregnancy and up to six weeks after pregnancy. These expenses are allowed if you are unemployed, under-employed or unemployable. These living expenses can include: telephone service, food, toiletries, clothing, transportation, and insurance. In addition, you may also receive help with expenses necessary to the health and wellbeing of you and your child.

Adoption Doesn’t Mean The End.

All adoption situations are different, but adoption does not have to be the end of your relationship with your baby. Open adoption is incredibly common. There is no standard for what these relationships look like. However, one thing is certain: the level of contact you’d like to have with your baby and adoptive family is up to you.
